Firstly, healthy eating is not a diet full of restrictions or tasteless. It ensures that the body is receiving all the nutrients it needs. Such as proteins, fats, carbohydrates, fibers, vitamins, water, and minerals. These items are essentials for all people who want to have a better life.

Besides, it is essential to avoid the consumption of processed foods. They are composed of substances that harm our organisms, such as dyes, preservatives, sodium, and sugar in large quantities. So, the more natural the food, the better!

A healthy diet improves people´s quality of life. For instance, it helps to prevent diseases and makes our body function works properly.

Tips on How to Eat Healthier

During our day, there are several responsibilities, and there is often no time left for ourselves, not even to acquire a healthy diet. But it is necessary to be careful, as it is very important to take care of our health.
Check out 10 tips on how to have a healthier diet:

– Decrease the consumption of salt and sugar.
– Drink at least two liters of water a day.
– Avoid fried foods and very fatty foods. Roasted, cooked, and grilled foods are healthier.
– Include three servings of milk and dairy products in your diet. Prefer skim milk products.
– Eat every three hours.
– Prevent alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, and other industrialized drinks.
– Do not overcook vegetables, as they can lose important nutrients.
– Consume six portions of the cereals, tubers, and roots group in your daily diet.

Canada’s Food Guide

The Canadian food guide

In order to help Canadians maintain and improve their health, and make the population aware of the good habits of healthy eating, the Health Canada (government department) released the revised Canada’s food guide.
With this intention, the guide recommends eating a variety of healthy foods each day including plenty of vegetables and fruits, protein foods (preferably of vegetable origin), and whole-grain foods. It also recommends limiting highly processed foods.

The Canadian food guide is divided into 3 groups of foods: Vegetables and Fruits, Protein, and Whole Grain.

Examples of foods in each group:

Vegetables and Fruits: Apple, banana, papaya, orange, carrot, beet, zucchini, pumpkin, cucumber, watercress, onion, chard, cabbage, broccoli, celery, etc.

Protein: Lean chicken, lean pork, fish, lean beef, tofu, beans, lentils, low-fat yogurt, milk, cheese, seeds, nuts, eggs, etc.

Whole Grain: Wheat, oats, rice, corn, sorghum, rye, millet, quinoa, whole grain pasta, whole grain bread, oatmeal, whole-grain brown, etc.

Summer Ready Program HMC

PSB Fitness offers the Summer Ready Program HMC of a lifetime! Join now to look better, feel better, and do better!

What is Summer Ready Program at HMC?

The Summer Ready Program HMC launches at the start of every year and ends in April. If you miss this round, there is another one from April to August. It is a 16-week long program that helps you get the body you always wanted just in time for summer. You will get the chance to receive a complete program guide with daily at home workouts as well as in person classes three times a week. These classes will be done with professional fitness instructors and the rest of the people that join the program. You will have the chance to book and talk one on one with professional fitness instructions as well as nutritionists through video chat or in person to help guide you through the process. All in person fitness training classes with instructors will take place at the Pilon School of Business Hazel McCallion (HMC) campus.

The program is accompanied with meal replacement shakes, vitamin supplements, protein powder, and shakers. As for equipment, each in person class will have all the work out equipment you need, and if you choose to do the daily at home workouts, the easy travel equipment can be purchased through the PSB website. This is the fitness program of the year that has proven to be effective for years. All ages and gender 18+ welcome.

You can now have access to the Sheridan college Fitness room called PSB Fitness at two different locations!

Sheridan college fitness room is located at the college campus at two different locations (Mississauga and Brampton). It offers services such as personal training, food, drinks, lockers, In-house smoothies, meditation studio, and dietary supplements. This gym is convenient for students enrolled in Sheridan college. The fitness center is located inside the college campus and so it has various benefit to offer to its target audience which is mainly students studying at the college.

Students who want to workout and maintain their bodies or get fit, they can easily go to this gym. With classes and assignments throughout the week, students do not wish to travel to gyms far away and so PSB Fitness is perfect as it is within the college campus. The students who wish to save time juggling between work and school, can join PSB Fitness. Sheridan college fitness room is open from Monday to Sunday, but personal training is only available in the weekdays. As a result, PSB Fitness has the best to offer to its customers.

There is an option for the beginners for testing their health and fitness status.
In this program first of all we do a health checkup by taking blood and urine samples of the person.
