Our goal is to transport students to a nostalgic and fun environment that makes them remember a time when they had a laugh at a meme, shared a mixtape with a friend or tried memorizing the words to “Lose Yourself” (by Eminem).

Each Groove Through the Decades date will feature R&B and hip-hop hits and artists from their respective decades, starting with the 90s, then the 2000s, and finally transitioning to the present. Collaborative playlists through Spotify will also be open, allowing attendees to contribute to the music selection.

Local Vintage Clothing Vendors:
Another large influence of pop culture and these decades is fashion! We have invited local vintage vendors to show their products at our Groove Through the Decades Events! They will showcase collections of their second-hand items. For the respected decade this can include bell-bottom pants for the ’90s, Peplum tops for the 2000s and Leggings for 2010.

Themed Atmosphere:

Immerse yourself in our Groove Through the Decades Events. Share laughs over memories, remember fun times and share stories of when you first heard a song or bought your first vinyl! Each event will be specific to the respective decade.

Food and Drink

Groove Through The Decades Event will have food and drinks provided on the first floor. There is also the ability to purchase alcoholic drinks with valid proof of government ID. Look forward to your favourite decades because themed foods will be available. Eat corn dogs and gushers inspired by 90s kids’ lunches or enjoy chicken nuggets and Kool-aid inspired cocktails from the 2000s.

Groove Through The Decades’Karaoke Hour:

Karaoke hour will take place halfway into the event! The winners (3 winners in total) will be decided by who gets the most votes at the end of the contest. Prizes will be available for the winner with the most votes. Prizes will be a Bose Speaker, and Headphones for the first winner, Free drinks or food for the night for the second winner and a vendor voucher for the third-place winners).
